A large Victorian pub at the end of what appears to be a concatenated terrace. The single large L-shaped bar feels a bit dated despite the recently renewed décor which incorporated a novel use for passé bathroom tiles, but it was pleasant enough just to sit and enjoy a beer. There is a mute gaming machine, Sky Sports on the TV, two dartboards and WiFi. They only do food at lunchtime, a fact which curtailed this visit as we wandered off to find an evening meal elsewhere. Two ales on draft, Pride and Doombar, neither on top form. It’s a pleasant, average pub, worth dropping in for a quick pint when passing but not a venue in its own right.

The Golden Lion is a smallish locals pub,one main bar but this doglegs round into what appears to be a darts room, there were two dartboards here and I spotted another in the main bar, I guess they like there darts here. There is some red upholstered banquet seating with a few basic tables and chairs. On the bar two pumps ,Doom Bar and London Pride with plenty of fizz offerings. It did little for me in here and I don't expect to make a return visit.
