Reputedly one of the oldest pubs in Ricky, I am guessing The Fox and Hounds has had a bit of an internal upgrade and makeover since the last review as it is now opened out internally so that you can move freely between the former small public bar area at the front to the larger 2 part split level areas at the back and the place now has a modern décor throughout.
It was quite busy on the Friday evening I visited and the front bar still has a public space feel primarily being used for vertical drinking with a few high tables and chairs around the edge, then the other two areas are much more lounge like in feel with the larger section at the back decorated with several hunting prints in keeping with the pub name.
Three ales on the bar and although these were the run of the mill Doombar, Bombardier and Youngs Bitter, the Youngs was a decent pint.

Old style boozer that hasn't changed much over the years and is now looking a little tired. Small public Bar at the front reached from the entrance on the street. Larger Saloon Bar to the rear which is split level and can also be reached via a side entrance. Upstairs function room which I think is little used and has few facilities. Real ale served.
