Komakino . left this review about The Alford Arms
An inviting gastro-pub in the sticks between Hemel and Berko which doesn't discriminate against solo drinking despite having won numerous accolades for its food over the years. A square-shaped, wooden island bar serves a room with a mixture of wooden tables and chairs, part-boarded, part-quarry tiled floor, with a predominant eating area at the back of the room. Two ales from four stumps (two unclipped) which were Sharp's Doom Bar and a very good Tring Side Pocket For A Toad (£4 for a pint). Friendly service but naff muzak means it doesn't quite score as high as it should.
