A Thwaites pub but no cask beers, and only Thwaites Smooth on the dozen keg taps that was not a national brand. To be fair, this is one of the best smooth keg bitters you can get. It's 3.4% and £4/pint but has a decent flavour and not too cold. The licensee is leaving a few days after the date of this review - he owns three other pubs, two in South Yorkshire, one in County Durham - but leases this one from Thwaites. He wants to run one that sells cask beer, which he says doesn't do well enough in Royston.
