Update 2026
Now with a major makeover as a Hickory's Smokehouse, so lots of unplaned woodwork, fake ranchery and repro Americana throughout. Having said that, it has been done quite well and looks good if that is your thing. It retains a good bar area in the old barn, with a terrace outside and while the Wacky Warehouse has been lost there is a new outdoor children's play area behind. No cask ales of course but the house craft brews are from Purity and Mobberley although quite pricey. Food is US-style "BBQ" and is tolerable but also pricey. The toilets, by the way, have been Wetherspooned.
(August 2022 review)
A Greene King family dining pub, previously a Hungry Horse but now a Carvery, complete with adjacent Wacky Warehouse, built around an old farm as the name suggests. Despite all that, it does what it does quite effectively and retains a good bar area in an feature barn-like structure, with a large sports TV screen. Outside there is a substantial tabled patio area. The beers are just GK, with Abbot, IPA and Yardbird on handpump, but it seems well-run and is not a bad option for good-value eating or if encumbered with kids.
