Old Boots left this review about The Slip Inn
Not quite a hidden gem but maybe overshadowed by the listed Swan further up the road, but this is a super local pub with some very finely kept ales, only a choice of four, Leeds Pale, Rudgate Ruby Mild, Wold Top Falling Stone and Salamnder as a guest, but probably in the best condition you will find anywhere in York. Décor is typical of pubs in the 1980s/1990s but nice enough, a games machine and a screen showing sport, this being Yorkshire it was cricket, on the standard pub scheme of dark below and cream above on traditional anaglypta and tongue and groove. A friendly pub with a good local following plus those in the know combining a visit here with a trip to the better known Swan.
