A double fronted stone built pub with bay windows. On entering there is a single public bar across the front, the counter is straight head while round the back is a dining room. Five pulls here with Theakstons plus guests usually from Wensleydale it seems, decently kept as well. It has low dark beams, a stone fireplace and a laminate floor as the pub was extensively renovated a few years back but in a traditional style. General country decor of horse furniture and tools and objects of unknown purpose, a pump clip collection is fixed to the beams over the counter. Definitely a good village pub don't worry about the dining room, the food is good but this isn't a pub themed restaurant.

When it comes to hospitality & making your stay superb this place is second to none. From the moment we got out the taxi from Darlington Tony made the three us very welcome, including dropping us at the Paras10 race and then when we left at Darlington station. Will definately be back next year. But think we might get our heads down a little earlier the night before the race !!! Many thanks Tony & drop us a shout if ya down in London
