Much-extended place that looks like it's served as the town's party venue for many years. Decor is pure 2001 (apparently the interior was re-done in 2016??), various shades of cream and light brown, with a pool table to greet you as you enter. One or two artefacts from the footwear industry can be spotted but aren’t really presented well. Bar is round the side; two cask on and both GK, my Abbot was passable (NBSS 2.5) and served-up by a friendly barmaid. Small and manky rear patio. Not my sort of place but it could have been far worse.

The Stitching Pony has seating and a pool table at the front and a bar that runs towards the rear whilst facing a beer shelf and small banquette that are found along the right-hand wall. Steps then lead to a split-level rear seating area. Televisions are found throughout for showing live sports, World Cup football via BBC was on during a midweek evening visit before Christmas. Standard and premium keg were available, and one of the three hand pumps was in operation. This was drawing Wychwood’s Hobgoblin Gold. The staff were very friendly, but I wasn’t that impressed with the high street chain pub vibe so I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit, even though it was very cheap.
