Long established pub in as the name suggests an old coaching house. There are six realm ales always available with Doombar regularly accruing but the rest are usually from small micros with Dukeries and Newby Wyke regulatory having their beers showcased. I had a pink of Oakham JHB which was a nicely kept refreshing beer at £3.35. this is a great local pub that is bursting with character and has open fires in winter time when the atmosphere is at its best with people huddled in to its low ceilings and camped alleyways. there is also a nice outside seating area which catches the sun, one of Southwells Best. Would be an 8.5

Nice old pub largely unimproved (well since the 1980s) nice banter among the locals, six pulls of mainly local stuff, not a bad pub.

A good traditional pub and well worth a visit. We called on Saturday lunchtime and to our dismay it was closed, the pub didn't open until 2pm. The pub doesn't serve food, so maybe that's the reason for their late opening. The bar faces you as you enter and has some settling areas plus another three separate rooms, one of which has a cast iron stove. There were six handpumps. I went for the Belvoir Mild and Oakham JHB.

Another of Southwell's great good beer pubs. Excellently kept beer, friendly landlord. A mecca for folk music lovers - live music regularly. Also a great pub quiz on a Sunday night. No car park, but lots of on street parking. Strongly recommended.

The Old Coach House Inn is a white painted pub that is at the bottom end of easthorpe.
Once inside this pub was very smart with carpets and comfortable chairs and normal tables, the room was fairly large but with different drinking areas, there may have been other rooms but we did'nt look.
There was a good choice of real ales on the bar and we had a drink of Taylor Landlord which was a very nice drink which went down well after the bus ride from Nottingham, the other beers were Kimberley mild,Dickens Ale,Archers bitter and Bass.
We found this pub to be very comfortable with a nice laid back atmosphere.
