The Station Inn is situated on the Beverley Road running north out of Hull city centre. It doesn't look particularly remarkable from the outside, but inside it has two traditional rooms with some nice features, friendly staff and customers and some good beers and ciders.
The front room was where all the action was on our Saturday evening visit. It has a tiled floor and a fireplace surrounded by pumpclips which could also be found on the walls. There were a few plants scattered around and there were dried hops behind the bar. A dummy's head behind the bar was a little off-putting. I also spotted a dartboard.
To the rear is a larger lounge but this was empty for our visit. Children are allowed in this room. Dogs appear to be allowed in on a lead in the bar. So, no children accompanied by dogs! There was quite a lively atmosphere with the England womens' team on the TV and music playing. Locals engaged us with conversation and seemed a friendly bunch, albeit with a few characters present.
The pub is listed in the Good Beer Guide and duly had 3 of its 4 handpulls on the bar clipped with Abbeydale Daily Bread & Linden & Milestone Black Pearl. Once again, this was another Hull pub with real cider - Dudda's Tun Disco & Perry, Broadoak Moonshine & Ross-on-Wye Somerset Redstreak Single Varietal. I was suitably impressed.
It's fairly easy to get to, as it's on regular bus routes from the city centre. As Arnie said, I'll be back.

Lovely two room corner pub, and so much more attractive than its black painted exterior would suggest. The front room has green leatherette bench seating, red &white floor tiles and wood panelling on the beams and pillars, as well as the disused front door. Four hand pumps with three beers on, my half of Wensleydale Black Dub was very good. Several ciders in boxes also available. Multiple recent pump clips scattered around the walls testify to a dedication to real ale. Definitely worth repeat visits.

A random stop on the long walk back into the city centre as I just liked the look of it. I was rewarded! Inside there are two rooms behind each other. The main bar is at front with a late 60s refit still very much in evidence; cream and red chequered flooring, coal fire and plenty of wood plank and woodchip trim. Noted an unusable dart board. The rear room looked like a lounge, cosy and tidy. I had barged in on a locals bingo night and the smattering people in attendance seemed to be having a good time even if it was getting quite late on a Sunday evening and the barman was good fun. Four pumps at the bar with three on; an adventurous selection given the clientele, with Twisted Angel Gargoyle Spiced Lime, YBH Reet and YBH Faithful Stout (good nick). Grim toilets let the side down, I hope they're being done up. Overall, slightly mad but fun and it’s worth popping in if you find yourself up this way – a proper unpretentious local.

I was the DJ here for over 8 years, thoroughly enjoyed it. I saw several different landlords and landladies during my stay, and they all made the pub very welcoming.

The Station is a decent looking pub with hanging baskets outside. It is an Old Mill tied house with their bitter and mild on the bar, quite cheap and very drinkable i could have stayed for a few more well worth a visit.
