Alan Winfield left this review about The Globe
This pub used to be called the Greyhound and it used to be a Shipstones tied house.
The Globe is on the very busy london road and it faces Notts Countys meadow lane ground, once inside the pub has been knocked into one long room with the bar on the left, the room has bare boards and comfortable bench seating with small stools there is a TV at the far end of the pub showing sports.
There were 7 real ales on the bar and all of these were local Nottinghamshire beers,i had a drink of Nottingham Rock mild and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Nottingham Legend, Magpie best bitter and four beers from the local Flipside brewery these were Flipping best, Copper Penny, Dusty Penny and Random Toss.
I have visited this pub quite a few times since it changed to the Globe and i always enjoy having a drink in here, the atmosphere is nice and laid back and all the beers are very well kept.
This pub is well worth a visit.
Note: This pub gets very busy when Notts County and Forest are at home and it does'nt open untill 4.00 in the afternoon during weekdays.
