Strongers . left this review about The Old Post Office
The Old Post Office is a long and thin high street pub geared towards the weekend crowds. Televisions are found throughout for airing live sports and I counted two dartboards and a pool table. Premium keg was available and the four hand pumps were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar, Adnam’s Ghost Ship and two cider offerings from Lilleys. This place isn’t aimed at me so I don’t plan to revisit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Old Post Office
Large Stonegate pub in a self-explanatory location, but as a conversion, one can't help thinking that Wetherspoon would have done a much better job (and with a greater range of food and drink offers too). Live football was on the various TV screens, which were a bit of a distraction as I sat on the slightly raised area opposite the elongated counter. Just Doom Bar (price unknown, since it was part of a 'burger & a drink' deal).

The Old Post Office is a large pub that i presume was converted from an old Post Office.
Once inside there is a large oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, there is a pool table to the front left, the bar is to the mid right and there is a decent sized raised area opposite the bar,the seating is mainly normal tables and chairs and bench seating with a few tall tables and chairs near the bar.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Magpie Four For a Boy which looked like a decent drink, but tasted worse than doctors medicine,i shuddered every time i had a drink of it,the other beer were Robinsons Trooper,Hogs Back TEA and Pedigree.
The pub was empty on my pre 11am Thursday morning visit, but there was some decent background music the listen to.
The seating looked like it had seen better days.
The one plus point for this pub is that it opens before 11am.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Old Post Office
We had to look very closely when entering the Old Post Office as we thought we had walked into a Lloyds No. 1 or even a JDW outlet. This large pub is part of the Smith and Jones Pub Co. There were four ales on handpump, we went for Morland Orginal.
