As ably described below. This has a slight canteen feel to it with a very contemporary colour scheme, modern wood fittings and canteen tables as per the photo.
Still with ten taps to a rear beer wall with just the two out of four pumps in operation, dispensing Little Ox's Hufflepuff and Arkel's Hoperation IPA at a reasonable £2.10 a half and very tasty too served by a friendly barman.
There's now very little in this area given the recent demolitions of the Plasterers Arms and Friar, so as a rescued community pub, this makes for a good stop.

The former Somerset closed in the late 2000s and lay derelict, for a time coming close to becoming an Islamic education centre. This has been revamped and taken in by the Dodo Pub Co. who also own The Rusty Bicycle and Rickety Press off the Cowley Road and in Jericho respectively. This brick building has a central entrance with a serving hatch to the far right of the building serving teas, coffees and various snacks to takeaway or be consumed out front. Inside, there's plenty of distressed wood, green paints and rickety metal/wooden-topped tables and stools. The layout inside is bar centre-right, facing outwards with a herringbone wood front and BrewDog-style screen above. A raised area to the right, with raised area to right and dining area to the back. Two real ales in Sharp's Doom Bar, Arkell's Hoperation IPA, with a third pump unclipped, a fourth offering Yellow Hammer cider and a fifth with a Loose Cannon Recoil clip unfortunately reversed. Ten keg pumps against the rear bar wall offering a variety of craft beers including one from locals Tap Social. Much espousement of 'community' but considering this is a re-opening in a pub wasteland of Oxford, they deserve to shout about it.
