Live sport is heavily advertised outside the Hundred Acres where some picnics sit out the front on a lawn behind a picket fence and a couple of sofas sit under a canopy by the entrance. Through the front door there’s a raised area with a pool table to the left and a carpeted area with high tables and some sofas under a television to the right. Towards the rear is a flagstone bar area with more high tables and a serving counter across the rear. Standard keg was available alongside Birra Moretti and the two hand pumps were both drawing Lilley’s ciders. There were five or so locals watching the screens throughout and a young family were sat on the sofas. I didn’t feel unwelcome, but this is an estate boozer for the locals.

Another Bicester estate pub. This one is a single open-plan room with a raised area to the left. Looks like a recent refurb has occurred with gold and red leaf wallpaper, red pub carpet and mushroom painted wood. Usual estate pub punter entertainment - BT Sports, pool table, jukebox. No ale so half a Guinness sufficed. Later witnessed a toddler being sat on the bar where we had just been served, let’s hope the nappy was watertight. Needs some imagination here and a bit of oomph as there were only four other punters in on our Saturday afternoon visit whilst the White Horse, another estate pub in Bicester, was buzzing.

Another estate pub in the continually-expanding Bicester. This is also set on a retail complex, sharing a car park with a Tesco Express and a Chinese takeaway. A squarish room with the servery against the length of the far wall, this has a small, raised dining area to the right a mixture of tall tables with leather-backed chairs and a couple of sofas. A pool table occupies the area to the left and in a partial alcove behind the front entrance. No real ale available, so I had a bottle of Bud. Disappointing.
