E TA left this review about The Old Inn
A 17th Century coaching inn which has been left in pleasant isolation by the A303. It has been refurbished in recent years, though while the outside now looks rather modern, the inside has kept a lot of its character. There is a large gravel car park, though it feels a bit strange driving through the outside seating area to get to it. There is a large function facility in a separate building, known as The Stables. On entering the pub you are in the main bar, which is formed from conjoined rooms and has exposed timbers, flag flooring and an inglenook with a woodburner. There is a tiny dining room behind the main bar counter. The staff were very friendly. There were a few cold pork pies as bar snacks. There were two ales on, Tunnel Vision and Otter Amber, both in good condition. Also available were two foreign lagers. A pretty decent pub all round, worth making a deviation for.
