A roadside pub with a village clientele which you could easily miss. There is a tiny car parking area just off the main road, from which the pub is entered by the back door adjacent to a small paved terrace with tables and umbrellas. There is also a fairly scruffy garden at the back. Inside, there are various small rooms linked to create a main dinign area with a welcoming brick-fronted open fire and a bar area. The latter was crowded: a family with a pram blocked the circulation space, while locals sat steadfastly at the bar in an attempt to block access. The pub dog was the one person who did welcome us. There were three ales on, Butcombes Bitter and rare Breed, and Sharp's Sea Fury. Apparently there is a skittle alley, but we didn't see it. We didn't feel particularly at home here so probably won't return despite the decent beer quality.
