At first sight, this appears to be a large roadside 'family eating' sort of establishment. Which technically it is, however, they have managed to retain considerable character, reinforced by some drinkable ales (including a house brew of hidden origin) and a very good range of genuinely home-cooked food. It consists of a collection of rambling stone buildings with plenty of nooks and corners; the rooms nearest the road being laid up for food, with a good bar area behind. Occasional live music, and accommodation also available. Especially handy as only a mile or two from Junction 31 of the M1 (towards Worksop). Definitely worth investigating more thoroughly.
