The ale choice was uninspiring but the food was well cooked ,no microwaved foodservice offerings here. The menu includes many pub staples around £7 and my faggots, mash and peas were excellent .Most other customers were there for the food as well. The sofas outside the building looked a little odd,but must be able to cope with the weather and there are also several wooden benches to watch the waterborne traffic.
The service was very friendly and chatty,I would return for a feed up.

A modern building by the marina with the pub area downstairs and a function room upstairs. It's very handy for the canal as there are moorings outside and the large windows of the one room area overlook the water.
Much of the space and most tables are given over to eating and the menu is a comprehensive one and the food well cooked and presented as well as being decent value. No wonder it was busy on our lunchtime visit.
There are 4 handpumps with 3 offering Abbott, Ruddles Best and Old Speckled Hen. The 4th had a reversed Church End Goats Milk clip on so they may add a guest at weekends. Not being able to face any of the 3 offerings from Greene King I had a Stella which was fine.
A friendly place for a bit to eat.
