The Monkey Puzzle is a Beefeater pub that is situated next to a Premier Inn and is a short walk from Chessington World of Adventures. I popped in for a pint at 19:30 yesterday (Friday) evening when this large barn like pub was half full with diners, the vast majority of which were young families. Most of the tables that weren’t being used had dirty plates and glasses on them so I ended up standing at the bar for the duration of my twenty minute visit. There are more tables upstairs, but I couldn’t be bothered to walk up there as I expected much of the same. Along with some standard draught on the bar there are two hand pumps that were drawing London Pride and Wadworth’s 6X. I decided to have a pint of Fosters which was politely served and set me back £3.10. The kitchen is open from noon every day and closes at 22:00 except for Fridays and Saturdays when it closes an hour later at 23:00. There is step free access and there is ample seating outside with views of the car park and the busy A243.
