A modern pub in the shop area of a residential development where once there were woods. Apparently designed by a noted church architect and visually does indeed look a bit like a modern church, with sections of wall at odd angles joined by glass elevations. Inside the main part is circular round a central feature chimney stack, with a selection of small areas at different levels arranged in a low spiral. The walls are plain brick, decorated by various features in bright colours. The bar is to the side, and through the back is a larger, brighter room fulfilling the public bar role, with numerous sports screens. Tabled patio areas are outside. The only draught ale on mid-Covid was the inevitable Doom Bar, but TEA is also usually available - condition was good although very cold. The food sounds like regular pub fare but proved to be chef-prepared rather than bought in and pretty good. All in all I quite liked this place, and it proves that you can have a stylish modern pub that isn't a family eatery.
