Strongers . left this review about Roebuck
The Roebuck has seating with high tables to the right of the central entrance and banquettes to the left, all of which are faced by an L-shaped serving counter that supports premium keg alongside Wye Valley’s Butty Bach, Old Peculiar, St Austell’s Proper Job and Tribute as well as Fuller’s London Pride. So exactly the same selection as in December last year… I suppose at least you know what you’re going to get. World Cup rugby was on in the bar area and there was some background music in the rear which is more of a dining area. I thought it was OK on here, maybe a little dry led, but I’d pop back in if passing.

Attractive old pub which seemed popular for food. 5 ales on - Butty Bach, Tribute, Old Peculiar, Proper Job and London Pride. A fairly "safe" selection but still a choice! My Butty was in good nick. Happy to have called in.

Not much has changed in here from the previous reviews with the exception of the prices. Our pint came to £4, which compared to some places in Warwick was cheap. Probably not worth another visit but it was fine on this visit.

A little bit chainy feeling but Mrs Mappiman wanted to go here as the food reviews on Tripadvisor were more favourable than the other drinking pubs along this stretch.
It was fine - Barman allowed me to try the Roebuck Ale - which I didn't like, so stuck with an unusual Deuchars IPA - which I was surprised to find in Warwick's oldest pub.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Roebuck
Attractive old inn, supposedly dating from 1470, partly opened-out inside to leave an elongated 'L'-shaped layout. The main bar at the front transitions through a semi-traditional alehouse-style zone to a brightly-lit restaurant area at the rear. A covered side alley and courtyard leading to the toilets is enlivened by hand-drawn Belle Epoque artwork on some of the walls. Five real ales on handpump, with Greene King IPA, Deuchars IPA, Bombardier, Old Speckled Hen and the 'house' 4.1% Roebuck Ale (£3.75) on (and schooner-sized measures also noted as being available). Although the refurbishment won't be to everybody's taste, the atmosphere was good and the place is worth a visit if in the area.

Ye olde-est pubbe in Warwick, or so it says, it plays to the theme inside and with the prices!
Nice friendly old pub though with plenty of space, especially if you are eating. Parts of the former outside areas appear to have been drawn inside to make extra space.
Fine place to visit.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Roebuck
A splendid looking pub dating from 1470, which consists of low beamed ceilings and an open fire, near the front of the pub on the left handside. Lots of different types of seating to choose from fills this long narrow L shaped pub. Four handpumps on the bar, with two in use, serving Abbott and GK IPA. The pub has good service and also has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I tried the Thatchers cider, which was good and reasonably priced.

A timber framed terraced pub (indeed, it claims to be the oldest in Warwick) in yellow render and black beams and paintwork, with some brick. It has entrances off two streets.
The interior is an L shape, with the room running around the bar. The place is modern, with some traditional features. There are sofas, comfy chairs, flowers at the tables and it does some foody orientated with its table layout, however, there are a few nice stone and brick fireplaces and supporting beams inside. There are also old photographs on the walls. The decor is mainly white, with some brick and wallpaper. The service was fine, the music at a decent level and the clientele a decent mix. There was also a TV.
Beer; tap stuff, with Wells Bombardier, GK IPA, Deuchars IPA, a decent enough Spekky Hen and Courage Directors.
It is a little too modern for my personal taste, but many will like it. There is a good choice of beer - but what it lacks, again, just from my point of view, is a local one; rather than all 5 being 'general' real ales.
