Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Port 'n' Ale
Desi-type bar and grill, but with more of a pub feel than most. The floorplan is divided about 50-50 between the general seating and pool table around an U-shaped counter and a boothed dining area, plus a smaller conservatory off to the side (with a beer garden beyond). Dark furniture and carpets contrasting with cream paintwork and bright lighting. No cask ale unfortunately, so had a Worthington's (£3.00) with my dinner.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Port n' Ale
A detached corner pub and eatery, with patio area. It is Victorian, and then called the Star Hotel/Inn - the other side of Sheepwash Lane (now Tame Rd) stood the Vine. I am not sure when it was renamed. The pub is in a port colour. It is of cottage style, with an upper bow window too, with a side extension. The interior is an open plan room, with further dining capacity in a narrow conservatory. The room is in cream patterend wallpaper, with wood panel, wood floor and an 80s style cream and fake beam ceiling. There is darts and table football and a few prints are on the wlls, with a few plates scattered about too. There is no bench seating, just tables and chairs, which gives a church hall feel. They do a Sunday carvery. The TV wasn't on and there was soft general music. The service was fine and a few friendly locals were in. Beer; 10 handpulls at the bar, but only one on - Salopian Golden Thread. Usual tap stuff with Greene King IPA. I just had a shandy. A former GBG pub, now sadly seeming to have dropped the real ale. A friendly place, a pity about the loss of the real ale - worth a pop in, just to see what is on though.
