Cask comprised Long Man Long Blonde, Harvey’s Best and Black Pig cider from a local cidery. Keg was Cruz, a Czech lager from Pirate Life Brewing, Guinness, Appleseed cider, K1664

Rural country pub just outside the “centre” of the village of Danehill. Public bar a small room with log burner on right and small no of tables. Small area around the bar counter in room on left of door with an open and roaring fire and some small tables. Through the bar area is another small dining area with another log burner but descending a small flight of steps into a bigger dining area in what you could describe as a small-scale banqueting room with apex ceiling with a small private dining area at the end that can be closed off with a set of heavy wooden doors. Not surprisingly the main dining room also had a log burner so this place must need a good log supply when all are fully utilised. Tables are generally heavy-duty wood and chairs dining style with a lot of the walls providing wooded banquettes with red fabric cushions for diners to sit that side of the tables. There is ample outside seating via round picnic style tables on the side and rear of the pub with seemingly ample parking in the small car park out the front or the larger one to the left of the pub. Saying that, was really busy for both Sunday lunch serving times and a number of cars had to resort parking at the side of the narrow road out the front of the venue. This is a classy county pub, quite rustic and with a lot of charm. Would thoroughly recommend the Sunday roast, probably the best I have had anywhere in Sussex in the last 10 years. There is a quiz on Wednesday evenings and a curry night on Thursdays. A couple of less oft seen cask beers added to the predictable staples around here would make this even more worth travelling to.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Coach & Horses

Very traditional-looking village pub, retaining two small bars; the main one to the left as you enter (with the dining rooms down a few steps beyond), and another to the right (also laid up for those planning to eat). Quite dark inside, with a semi-rustic feel, but there is also a very attractive beer garden to one side. Three handpumps, offering the regular Harvey's and Larkins Traditional (£5.60) as the current guest (with local beers from 360° and Three Acre also featured by the look of things), together with a Black Pig cider.

A country pub that is definitely in Sussex, but has been listed under both East and West Sussex over the years. The car park, which features an old telephone box and a shelter selling local produce is quite tight. There is a much larger overflow space to the left-hand side. To the right-hand side is a pretty-looking garden.

Inside, there is a small bar area to the left and a similarly small room to the left, which leads into a much larger dining area down on a slightly lower level.

The friendly staff had Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter on offer alongside a guest beer, which was Long Man Long Blonde. A third handpull had the local Black Pig "Cyder", which was fetched from the cellar. It was a new one for me.

A pub with plenty of character that ultimately was my favourite pub of the day in Sussex.
