Aqualung . left this review about The Kirky Puffer (JD Wetherspoon)
I've no idea what the original use of this building would have been but the exterior is beginning to look a bit jaded. Inside it's a low ceilinged rectangular room with fairly typical fixtures and fittings.
There are just two sets of three hand pumps which had Deuchars IPA, Doom Bore, a festival cider from four weeks ago, Inveralmond Lia Fail, Stewarts Jack Black and Butcombe Gold. I went for the Lia Fail (£1.85) which was in good nick.
I didn't think there was anything special about this one but at least there were some beer options.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kirky Puffer (JD Wetherspoon)
Named after the steamboats formerly plying the adjacent Forth & Clyde Canal? Larger inside than the old stone frontage suggests, it features light furniture and decor that helps offset the lack of natural light. Apart the inevitable Doom Bar, quite a good selection of local / regional ales from the likes of Cairngorm, Black Wolf, Skye, Broughton and EdinBrew (whose Black Current porter, £1.85, was in fine form).
