Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Olympia (JD Wetherspoon)
Eponymous former cinema with the façade and high vaulted roof inside being about the only reminders of its former use. It now feels like a bit of a barn, although there is a raised area on the right-hand side opposite the bar and seating where the screen must once have been. Also has a small patio area at the back. The only notable thing about the beers on offer is the price: Ruddles (£1.29), Doom Bar (£1.49) along with Abbot, Titanic's Plum Porter and my Hobgoblin Ruby (each £1.69). Joe's Farmhouse Dry cider (£2.99, ouch!) was also available from one of the ten handpumps.

£4.30 for a 14 min bus here from Ebbw Vale, no wonder the locals are so broke - at least Dick Turpin made the effort to dress-up. Anyways this is a basic Timbo Tavern. Cavernous and bland interior, the only item of vague interest is the bar back, which looks like the foyer of an early 80s office block. Gee-gees on the big screen for the amusement of a few old soaks. Swerved the guest ales and slipstreamed an old boy on the Abbot (NBSS 3.5). Mildly depressing Spoons, unfortunately. 5.5

This is a cinema conversion that consists of a large high ceilinged room with a patio at the rear. The bar is on the left hand side and to the right there is a TV projector screen. On my late Thursday morning visit it was fairly quiet.
Although the bar has two sets of five hand pumps with several clipped I was a bit dismayed to be told that only Spitfire and Rhymney Hobby Horse were on. I went for the Hobby Horse and was cheered up no end when I was charged just £1.65 for it which is the standard guest ale price! The food prices here looked about average.
It's not a bad place and several of the clipped hand pumps had Rhymney Brewery beers on them.
