Troll Cart is a long Wetherspoons with a long L-shaped serving counter that stretches halfway down the pub creating front and rear seating areas. More seating is found front and rear to the right where there’s a dumb waiter area for food deliveries from the kitchen above. Standard and premium keg is available and two doubled up banks of six hand pumps were drawing the usual Spoon’s three plus Exmoor Ales Exmas, Conwy Brewery’s American Amber and Wolf Brewery’s Golden Jackal. The service was quick on a relatively quiet Tuesday evening, and the beer was cheap so what’s not to like.

Fairly modern-looking Wetherspoon's at the end of the town's main street (Regent Street), furthest from the beach.
Covid screens and other measures were still in place on our first visit at a weekend. Later the following week, they had been removed. This is one of those places where orderly queues form at each till. You have to be lucky and not get in the queue where coffees are being ordered or where the meal order contains many multiple choice questions. The wait was up to 10 minutes for me most times I went to the bar.
On our Sunday visit, many holidaymakers were enjoying the sunshine in an outdoor patio to the side of the pub.
Sharp's Doom Bar, Greene King Abbot & Ruddles Best are the regular ales. On my first visit, Woodforde's Norfolk Nog & Goddard's Fuggle-Dee-Dum were the guests. The second time, guests were Green Jack Mahseer IPA, Wold Howlin' Wolf & Wold Number 21. The cider was Cock Eyed Monkey Mango.
Not a bad pub by Wetherspoon's standards. I'm surprised this one has never made the Good Beer Guide.

Vast modern Wetherspoon's in purpose-built building, complete with hotel, in shopping area and opposite the bus station. Fittings and facilities exactly as you might expect, except that is does include quite a large patio garden including a covered section. Beer range seemed fair, with a few locals alongside the usual stuff. As mentioned in earlier reviews, it does seem to get busy and was absolutely heaving on a weekday lunchtime.

This is an old school JDW dating from the mid nineties. It's a wide room with not much depth, typical furnishings and was busy at around 11:30 on a June Saturday morning.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had the JDW Trio Of Doom, Adnam's Ghost Ship, Woodforde's Nelson's Revenge, Grainstore Rutland Beast, Hobgoblin, Wolf Sirius Dog Star & Trawlerman's Best and Wild Weather Choppy Waters. I went for the Sirius Dog Star (£2.39) which was in very good nick. This seemed a decent enough Spoons but probably worth avoiding in the summer months.

Large open plan 'Spoons that can get packed especially during the summer months. On my visit there were some good real ales on. Opposite the bus station.
