Single storey 1970s building, and a shop conversion. Old skool ‘long and shallow’ Spoons Victoriana interior and the building's canopy-style overhang means natural light fades fairly quickly – I popped in early afternoon with blazing sunshine outside but in here it felt like it was tea time. The right-hand side down a couple of steps has had its woodwork painted light green, presumably in an attempt to brighten things up a bit; unfortunately its uniformity means that it feels a bit cheap, which is a shame. The app was in no way reflective of the ale choice at the bar which ran to two, both high abvs in Exmoor Beast and Theako OP, the latter of which was a bit long pour but ostensibly fine (NBSS 2.5). Feels like this one needs a better manager who has half an interest in getting the cask punters in. Oadby town centre doesn’t offer much, frankly, and this place should do a better job at cleaning-up.

This is a wholly uninspiring old school JDW shop conversion. Inside it's a single wide room with typical furnishings.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had a dismal choice consisting of the JDW Trio Of Doom & Theakston's Best doubled up, two International beers (a brand that seems to have gone completely downhill) from Hook Norton & Everard's, one available soon and the hopeless Marston's One Is 90. I went for the Hook Norton Nerdherder IPA (£2.35) which was in very poor condition. This one only just escapes the Score Of Shame.

Dirt cheap beer and breakfasts! What more do you want? Has tv's on but no sound. Whats the point?
