This is an old school Spoons that is earmarked for closure. It consists of a single rather dull room with the bar on the right.
It was totally chaotic on my Thursday afternoon visit with a leery daytime brigade and screaming brats rampaging around. The minimal staff present were struggling to cope with it all. I noticed the food wasn't that cheap, in fact the breakfasts here at £3.49 were dearer than the usual £3.25.
The bar has eight hand pumps which had one unused, the two GK beers, Directors, Nottingham Legend, Flack Manor TPA and two festival beers. I went for the Nottingham Legend which was hazy and not that brilliant.
I thought this was a poor Spoons.

Wetherspoons in a former commercial premises on a busy high street. A single, uninspiring room has a carpeted and laminated floor, mute gaming machines and a tv screen that wasn't working. Too few staff were on duty for the umber of customers, so service was slow and inefficient, which in turn meant some of the less civilised customers were getting tetchy and hostile. When the staff got around to us, they were pleasant and helpful. Seven ales and two ciders on draft - I had the Dutch beer, Brouwerij 't IJ, which was in good condition but a bit overgassed. I'd include in a crawl or use my CAMRA vouchers there, but I wouldn't want to linger.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Sir Percy Florence Shelley (JD Wetherspoon)
Rectangular shop conversion, with the usual 'spoon furniture and decor, plus a small rear patio. Rather mixed staff attitude / efficiency. Eight real ales on handpump, including a reasonable pint of Flack Manor Black jack porter (£2.29). Overall, OK but rather ordinary...

Another scummy weatherspoons pub. I only use it thanks to it's proximity to Dean Court. Had to step over a drunk bloke sprawled across the floor on my way out this evening.
Plus points are cheap pints, friendly staff and a relaxed approach towards wearing colours.
