Old Boots left this review about Yates
Typical of the genre, a raised area to the left admittedly with decent river views, counter is to the rear left with an array of keggery, there are four pulls but only two in use both dispensing a (non Camra approved) cider, plenty of screens and machines, it has bouncers later in the day. There’s an upstairs bar I didn’t explore. There’s masses of spirits bottles ranged on the bar back for the cocktails etc its target audience likes, sadly I’m not one of them.

About what you'd expect from a city centre Yates's, a large modern circuit pub on two levels inserted into an old warehouse building. Windows at the back have a riverside view, while there is a large courtyard area on the landward side. The TT Landlord was sadly off, just leaving Doom Bar although in fairness this was about as good as it could be. Note it is located behind the shops, with access from a riverside walkway or down a side alley.

This pub is very large inside with one room the bar is on the left as you enter and i was surprised to see two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Smiles Old Tosser and this was a decent drink (Not sure who brews this beer)the other beer was Bombadier.
The pub does cheapish food and we ordered food and drinks at the bar by the time we had our drinks poured our meals had arrived thats what i call quick service and the meals were decent enough.
This is not really a drinkers pub but it does have real ale and the food was decent so it did the job for us.
