Old Boots left this review about Keppels Head Hotel

Hotel bar, called the Nelson Bar, open to the public in a large hotel opposite Portsmouth Harbour Station and HMS Warrior. Down a few steps past the reception desk it is decorated in a Georgian style with leather sofas and armchairs along with older style wooden chairs. The decor is old prints and pictures naturally with a naval theme, above the counter are a number of ship’s shields. There is one handpull with Wainwright Amber, mine was first out that evening and fairly rank as I expected. A quintuple T-bar provides some Carlsberg Marstons brands plus a Guinness and Kirin solo.

E TA left this review about Keppels Head Hotel

A Georgian harbour hotel, primarily residential and aimed at the less expensive end of the market. A rather scruffy doorway leads to a more welcoming entrance lobby with a tiled floor and a tired air. The bar is small, functional and reasonably comfortable, but it is nothing more than a room where you go to have a drink when staying here. There is no real ale, and the wine selection is poor. There are taps for Guinness, John Smiths and some form of cheap lager, but none of these seemed to be working. Unless overnighting here, it really isn’t worth bothering about, and even then I’d walk up the road for a drink.
