This is a detached Victorian pub. It is a cottage, with low-level extension. It is in white render, with what appeared to be black paintwork (it was dark!), the upper floor has a couple of sash windows with entablatures and the lower, a couple of bay windows flanking a canopied central door. The interior is an L-shaped room, which is in a straight-forward white and wood panel. One end has a pool table and dart board, while the other has a TV, which was showing general stuff and an iron fireplace. The walls have pictures and prints of horses, jockeys, greyhounds and other things and the seatind is old bench types, athough re-covered. The M&B signage on the outside is also mirrored by some coloured glass above the bar on the inside. The music was a bit loud and pop-ish. The service was fine and the place busy enough with a mixed and local clientele. Beer; no real ale, just the usual few taps, without even a MILD. I had a shandy and left. This is quite a nice traditional pub, with a local feel. Sadly, the beer choice for my personal taste just isnt there. I wish it was.
