This is a detached pub with rear patio area - indeed, it once had a bowling green at the back. The pub has a Georgian style, with a three storey central part, extended either side. The upper frontage has rounded lintel sash windows (one blind) and leaded lower windows with a central entrance. It is in cream, woth olive coloured paintwork - sadly the old signage and windmill have now gone. The interior has a single L-shaped room - and you can see where the old rooms were. The decor is also cream and olive green wood panel, with a wood floor. The rear area is a lounge (they do breakfasts) with beams on the walls and general tables and chairs for seating. The main bar area has fabric covered bench seats. There is a TV , which had the footy on and the music was reggae at a decent level. The service was fine and the clientele were locals, and friendly. Beer; usual tap stuff with a few unused handpulls and one with a Hobgoblin clip turned around (it was Monday, so may have ran out). I had a shandy. Happy enough to have stopped off here, but little for the real ale fan.
