A chav magnet as implied below, which complements Cafe Bar 21 opposite. There is a large outside covered terrace at the front which, when we visited, was mainly occupied by large (in stature as well as number) families. There is also a paved garden at the rear which includes a children’s play area. Inside is a sizeable single room with wooden flooring, a pool table and multiple TV screens showing live cricket. The young barman was over-familiar to the point of rudeness, although he could at least operate the dispensing equipment. It wasn’t a restful place to be, partly because of the grotesque family groupings and partly because of the dreadful, depressing pop music, the same awful dirge that the other nearby dives were belting out. This bar, however, at least had two ales on, Glastonbury’s Lady of the Lake, and Tribute, both in good condition. Most of the customers though were enjoying the keg range of Korev, Carlsberg, John Smith’s, Guinness, Amstel, Estrella, San Miguel, four from Thatcher’s and Red Stripe, all over-priced compared to some other nearby pubs. The ale quality is their only saving grace.

Two beers on offer were St Austell Tribute and Exmoor Wild Cat. Popular pub for families.

I wouldn't actually call it a dive, but it ain't far off! Usually full of loud chavvy tourists or drunken escapees from Butlins. Mid-week out of season it isn't too bad although the beers are not well kept. Well below average - there are much better pubs in Minehead (but don't tell the people who frequent this place!).

Not one for the discerning pub goer I'm afraid. It caters for the Butlins guests in that it provides junk food and fizzy lager to as many people as it can cram into the bar and conservatory. It does sell real ale but the quality is poor. Best avoided in my opinion.

Huge friendly pub serving well kept ales and reasonably priced pub grub ranging from tasty filled baguettes to all day breakfasts to steaks and roasts. Large covered conservatory and massive childrens playground. Family and disabled friendly. Brisk service and efficent staff.
