A largish modernly attired bar that had the feel of an upper class sports bar, maybe because it was full of people watching the rugby on a couple of TV screens, however the right hand side of the U shaped room, divided by the centrally positioned bar was set for dining and empty. Two beers on both from St Austell, Tribute and Proper Job.
I've no plans for a revisit.

A large single space with a square horseshoe bar in the middle if that makes sense, the room winds back some way each side, one side has regular style tables, many set for dining, the other has the high variety with stools where beyond is a stage and set up for regular evening gigs. The wood panelling has regrettably been painted in some pastel shade of grey but there is a remaining elaborate fireplace also painted alas. So not exactly full of traditional features. A large screen was showing rugby to a few interested punters but otherwise it was a bit quiet on a late Saturday afternoon, I suspect the place fills up later when the bands start. Indeed on walking by later on Saturday on the way to the B&B the place was rocking.
Three beers on, Summer Lightning, Doom Bar and Dark Revolution So.Le.
An ok spot, time your visit for what you are after, either way I think that you'll get a decent pint.

An ultra-modern music bar that nonetheless had three ales on the go – Hop Back Summer Lightning (was good), Downton Quad Hop and Doom Bar. The friendly barmaid gave us a potted history of the place, with it being a failing pub that has been transformed into a live music and food venue. The fabulous specially commissioned artwork, depicting each musical member of the average rock/pop band caught my eye and it added a healthy dose of personality to what otherwise might well have been a slightly too clinical interior. Whilst not a traditional pub experience, I was impressed and would recommend this one for a visit especially if you’re coinciding with a live music night.

Previously The White Horse, Qudos is a former city centre Victorian hotel with a stable block behind (now a car park) , and has over recent years had various incarnations - as a Wadworths pub, an Italian restaurant and now as a slightly tendy (or trying to be) bar. Spacious and airy, it still has two main areas although the clientele is a little more homogenous now than it was before. Live nusic is advertised, but none was on when we visited. Three ales on, I had the Downton New Forest Ale which was fine. Always happy to drop in if passing, although there is stiff competition from ootehr pubs nearby. Worth including on a crawl.

Wadsworth hotel although only semi decent 6X available when I visited. One large room with a split personality, one end is down market modern with pool table and big telly the other is more traditionally furnished and decorated, wood panelled with some very nice carvings and an ornate fireplace. The punters reflect the décor, chavs one end and middle class beer drinkers the other. Little else can be said about the place.
