I was hit by the stench of weed when I walked into the Bird I’th Hand early on a recent Thursday evening. There was no blazing of buds in the actual pub, I think the smell was brought in off the street on the, mainly young, customer’s clothes. The bar counter is centrally located on the rear wall where it faces an entrance and seating under the windows either side where some children could be found sleeping under coats. There are several small rooms in this long pub, one has a pool table, another a dartboard and another some DJ equipment. The televisions throughout were all off, but there was some background music playing.
Standard and premium keg was available and the two hand pumps were unused. I though this place was chaos and was glad to leave. On my way out I wasn’t surprised to see a Star Pubs for lease sign on the wall out front.

A good looking pub on the outside. Inside it has multiple rooms/areas. One room has a dartboard and loads of shields on the walls. There's a pool area, a lounge and the bar area, plus a beer garden with decking at the rear. Two handpumps with one unclipped, the other claimed to be Hophead, but when I asked for a pint I was told it had "just gone", yeah, right. I ended up with a half of Fosters. I wasn't happy. They have karaoke on Friday & Saturday with there also being live music some weeks. A nice pub let down my not having any beer.
