A fairly decent place and much more pubby than the corporate Roebuck over the road. 3 areas left, right and to the rear. Lots of scary Halloween imagery dotted around. 2 handpumps on the bar with Thwaites Lancaster Bomber and Wainwright's on on my visit.

Staying at the premier inn opposite, we opted for tea at The White Bull on the saturday evening. Greeted by a traditional country style pub and dining room we ate generous portions of locally sourced meats (hamlets) with genuine homemade chips- nothing overly fancy on the menu, but good honest food, perfect even for the largest of appetites (my teenage son!) A welcoming atmosphere, with live entertainment on the saturday night; getting everyone dancing it made for a very pleasant evening.

Spacious canalside pub. Food OK, nothing special. The chips are advertised as home made, but looked & tasted like frozen ones. Ales include Theakstons Best and a guest ale. Unfortunately the canalside views are rapidly disappearing behind a new outdoor smoking shelter.
Ample car parking to side.
