This is a detached 1970s styled pub, with a few benches outside. I assume this was built around the time of Spaghetti Junction ('72) as the whole area changed dramatically, but it appears from the old maps that it replaced a Victorian pub (at least) called the Erdington Arms. The new pub, in glowy white, with a balcony, has a touch of the Spanish look - or maybe i am talking tosh. It has a couple of rooms, but the lounge was closed and the bar, with two regulars, was the only room open. It has a white artexy walls, with brown wood panel, a wood floor and a mix of newly covered bench and comfy seating. There is a pool table and a dart baord and the TV had Benefit St on. There was no music, although there is a jukebox. The signs of 'No Hoods', Over 21's Only' and the window bars were a little off-putting, but the service was friendly and the interior tidy. Beer; no real ale, just usual keg stuff, so i had a shandy. One for the locals, nothing for the real ale fan.
