Splendid Spoons that has been well described below. A really nice and extensive interior although the layout is quite open and has a loud atmosphere. on a Saturday morning dozens of rather boisterous lads surrounded the bar - incredible that this place is rammed with drinkers when other pubs in the vicinity are not even open yet. Beer wise it has a great range and is definitely a place for the strong ale drinker- Witches Brew, Wobbly Bob, Old Peculier with Jaipur and Moonraker coming soon!

Largeish spoons in an ex-cinema, reckoned at times to be the best in the country it’s not a bad place. Toilets are all on the ground floor as well. Standard ‘spoons furnishings and layout, a decent choice of well kept beers and good staff so it’s still up there with the best Wetherspoons.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Regal Moon (JD Wetherspoon)

Grand cinema conversion overlooking The Butts, although the slightly split-level interior hasn't retained as many original features as some of this ilk. Older (i.e. darker and more traditional furniture)and mostly movie-themed decorative features. Excellent selection from the two banks of six handpumps, with six pre-festival beers (including my Peerless Sup, £2.31, but perhaps a bit 'end of the barrel') and three other guests in addition to the trio of Ruddles, Doom Bar and Abbot.

Bit of a beauty, a converted 1930’s cinema. Inside has lovely dark wood curved walls with prints of old stars from the big screen everywhere, ornate pillars and a real jazz-era feel. As mentioned below, it’s quite sprawling, but in a good way. The bar is against the right wall and has Art Deco stylings (love the raised lit box) and a mannequin playing a Wurlitzer above, which can give you a startle if you don’t notice it straight off. A plethora of guest cask, my Phoenix Porter was in good shape (NBSS 3.5). I really liked it here and could have easily stayed longer, next time I will. A really good Spoons and it really should be in the GBG. 8.5

Strongers . left this review about The Regal Moon (JD Wetherspoon)

The Regal Moon is a huge sprawling Wetherspoons pub housed in an old cinema. The long bar stretching down the right-hand wall faces a sea of open plan seating. At the rear is a raised seating area that leads to a split-level patio area out the back. Back inside the pub there are a couple of plasma screens that were showing muted horse racing, which is surprising for a Spoons. As was the presence of a large projector screen, which was unused.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the twelve hand pumps in two banks of six were all drawing different ales. The usual JDW cheap food menu is available and I found the service to be very quick, even though the pub was quite busy, especially for early on a Monday evening. I would return here as this is one of the better Spoons I have visited.

The interior in here is quite vast and a lot larger than I had imagined. They have now refurbished the rear patio garden, which gives this pub even more space. The pub was busy on our Friday afternoon visit and in spite of this, service at the bar was fast and efficient. There was a good selection of cask ales on handpump on our visit, so we went for the Beartown Atlas and the Ilkley Summer. The prices in here were also excellent at £2.15 a pint for our beers.

As noted below this cinema conversion has not retained much of the old cinema inside so it's basically a JDW barn. Most people seemed to be drinking in here late on a Wednesday afternoon. A drop down screen was showing Wimblebore which put me off but was forgotten when I realised they appeared to have all 20 festival ciders.
The 12 hand pumps had a good choice with the two GK beers, Naylor's Citradelic & Toffee Mild, Acorn Old Moor Porter doubled, Elland 1872, Moorhouse Pendle, Ilkley Pale, Saltaire New World Red, Phoenix Wobbly Bob and Hawkshead Windermere Pale. I went for the strongest cider I hadn't tried (£2.95) which was called Somerset Redstreak.
I thought this was a very good Spoons.

Just decided to visit this wether's boozer as its only a short tram ride from where i live in Oldham. The atmosphere and overall layout of the place is standard wether's but the choice of ales more than met my expectations. Well worth a visit just for the excellent real ales on offer. Will be calling in again over Christmas.

From the inside you'd never know it used to be a picture house. Outside, however, it does. A large cavernous place and quite acceptable.

I didn't realise that The Regal Moon was a converted cinema until I was told after our visit which is an indication as to how many features have been retained. To me it felt like a standard, fairly soulless 'spoons.
Nonetheless, the beer range was very good although the only one which I managed to note was the Elland 1872 Porter which was excellent and gives a clue as to the quality of ale offered.
It's well worth a visit for the interesting ale selection but it is, ultimately, still a standard 'spoons.
