Will Larter left this review about The Deansgate

Very quiet mid-afternoon January, and only one cask beer on, with another pump clip turned around and an elderflower cider occupying another hand pump. I had a half of Rocking Rudolf - how is that still on nearly two weeks after Christmas? It was still drinkable but with just a hint of something going on that shouldn’t have been (NBSS 2). This is a decent looking pub, with bare floorboards, wood panelling on some walls, and others painted green. There are other rooms behind the bar and upstairs. I wouldn't rule out calling in again, once the Christmas beer has been seen off.

Close to Deansgate rail and tram stations, this is a Greene King pub with a fairly traditional multi-roomed interior. It has only recently opened after a period of closure. The house beer is Greene King Deansgate, whilst their IPA is also on offer. The guest beer was Timothy Taylor Landlord. I opted for Level Head, also from Greene King, but a keg beer.

Food seemed to be fairly popular here, with a fair few diners present. However, we still managed to find a table in a room at the rear. This is one I can now say I've ticked off. I doubt I'll return anytime soon though.

Strongers . left this review about The Deansgate

The Deansgate has a U-shaped island bar with high tables and a beer shelf at the front, banquettes up the left and seating up the right. At the rear is a separate seating area that looks more geared towards dining. No televisions, but there was background music. I counted four hand pumps that were drawing Greene King IPA and TT Landlord. One was unused and the fourth was clipped with Deansgate Manchester which I imagine is either just for show or a rebadged beer. Premium keg was also available, although most were off so maybe it had been a busy weekend. This place is OK for a city centre pub so close to a main station.

Visited mid week. Four hand pulls with one off, leaving Old Speckled Hen, Coach House Honey Pot and Holts Bitter. I went for the Honey Pot, which was drinkable but nothing special. The pub is aiming to be fancy, but unfortunately this is not reflected in the beer selection. Otherwise it is a nice smart tidy pub and also benefits from a real fire. It claims to have a beer terrace accessed from upstairs but I have never investigated it. There was a chalkboard advising that the upstairs area was closed for a private function. Not one I can see myself rushing back to, but it probably catches a fair bit of business due to its proximity to Deansgate station.

As others have pointed out , this is a nicely done out pub with several different areas , three of the four handpulls on with two from Holts and Ruddles Best , the Barmaid was chatty and friendly , i liked it in here .

A decent, if expensive, pub in a proper pub setting. There were 3 cask ales on. Not too bad actually.

Have to agree the prices here are rather steep, but the interior is finished to a very high standard. The pub is well run and spotlessly clean. I noticed an old lift car on the left-hand side of the bar, which has been made into a seated booth. There were two fireplaces, both had elaborate antique clocks on them, there was a also a grandfather clock. On the ale front, I went for the Lancaster Brewery Amber.

There's now no change out of £7 for a round, it was £7.05 for a pint and a bottle of Corona. The first floor sundeck was packed so we sat inside. It's a decent enough pub for one, but I wouldn't want to stay all night.

They've done a great job on this pub since it was Galvin's Irish Bar and previously a run down Vaux pub. It's been brilliantly restored and some fine touches added. However someone has to pay for this and it's you. This place is very pricey even for the city centre, there's not much change out of £7 for a pint of the real stuff (usually a choice of 4) and a small glass of wine. It's open until 2 a.m. at the weekends which is a bit of a surprise. The other half likes it so we normally call in for one on the way to The Knott.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Deansgate

Fine, traditional layout with a 'U'-shaped bar and the surrounding space divided into two seating areas with an open doorway on one side and a moveable wooden screen on the other. However, further back, there is also a comfortable lounge to one side of the main corridor and an open booth-type area to the other. The place has been refurbished to a high standard throughout, but thankfully retaining a host of original features. Reasonable-looking menu, but not cheap. Four handpumps, with beers including Thwaites, Bombardier, and a fine O'Finnegans Irish-style Cask Stout from a local brewery (£3.20). Overall, despite the prices, well worth a visit to see the fine wood panelling stained glass, mosaic floor tiling, unusual carved seats, etc.
