It was reassuring to see the SIBA plaque on the pub door, enter into a small corridor with the bar on the right, wood panelling, large rooflight above. A small room to the front has lots of pictures of WWII aircraft with more wood panelling. We moved around to the rear bar, again fully panelled, wood block flooring and a real fire, the panelling being decorated with framed banknotes and caricatures. Cushioned bench seating with no backs line opposite walls in here. A friendly spot, we were soon in conversation with a couple on a day out from Bristol.
Good selection behind the bar too, the pub brew, Blindman's Green Tree Bitter, Newmans Red Stag, Butcombe Bitter, Stonehenge Danish Dynamite,RCH Pitchfork plus two ciders, Broadoak and Rich's Farmhouse. A good range of single malts too. Another first rate Bath pub.

Good place to tuck yourself away and escape the tourists. Haven't eaten there for ages, mainly because I've never been able to get a table!, but the food was always worth a stop if you could find space to eat it.

This is a great little pub. There are 2 small rooms and a drinking corridor all with oak panelling installed in the 1920’s. The front lounge, where we sat, has pictures of World War 2 aircraft all around the walls. Friendly locals and staff ensured a pleasant visit. 5 handpumps on the bar, Old Green Tree bitter, which is brewed for them by Blindmans Brewery and 4 changing guests. Both the pints I had were very well kept. Another definite when on a Bath pub crawl.

A small cosy locals pub where visitors are tolerated although it's not easy to get to the bar at busy times when the only free space is in the corridor that runs alongside the short bar. There is also a small snug/lounge with a few tables. Decent selection of beers which are generally sourced locally.

I agree with John's recommendation but without the smoke...happy days. This is the sort of place you have to try. It is a little claustrophobic though but comprises of 3 very small Oak panelled rooms with some character. A good selection of ales and friendly staff, give it a tryout.
