One of my 2 favourite pubs I've visited in Peel, I paid a return visit here for the first time in over 11 years last week.

This is a traditional backstreet locals' pub. Despite the hotel reference in the name, I don't believe accommodation is offered.

I chose to sit in the small main bar area. A pool room also has access to the bar, whilst there are a couple of other rooms which were in darkness during my visit. Maybe they were trying to save on the energy bills.

The 4 regular beers on were Okell's Bitter, Bushey's Bitter & Odin Manx Mild & Laksaa. The guest beer was Cross Bay The Blonde, but there was no sign of any real cider on this visit. Maybe it is now restricted to summer only and maybe I just missed it somehow. Locals and their dogs seemed a friendly bunch.

Loved this pub with its many rooms served by a central bar. Busy and friendly with a good selection of ales available. Had the best Okells Alt on the island here and had to hurry it to catch a bus, so came back later in the week to spend more time, and watched some of the snooker while enjoying Bushy's Ruby Mild and Moorhouses Pride of Pendle.
