Visited 13/07/26. Visited previously on 30/04/19 for ticking purposes, but the odd visit since unreviewed.

Cask here was just Okells Best Bitter. Keg offering of Guinness, Carling, Orchard Isle cider, Falcon lager and Madri.

A good Irish vibe in this traditional venue on the main shopping street. Bare boarded with the bar counter in the rear right-hand corner with tall stool seating along its length. Brown leather studded banquette on the rear left hand wall facing bar counter and serving regular tables. The space in front of the bar has the same leather banquette along the right-hand wall serving regular tables. Decent amount of Irish sporting and drinking memorabilia on the walls and the screens were showing replays of the weekend GAA action with no commentary the sound provided by an Irish crowd pleaser soundtrack. There is a snug in the front to the right of the entrance, lighter wood panelling and a banquette on the left-hand side serving regular tables and facing a large screen on the wall above the fire grate, now screened off by a long church pew style bench. There is a room to the left of the entrance, carpeted at the front and bare boarded at the rear. Seating via a mix of regular and tall tables with a large screen showing early evening racing action and a dartboard in the rear left-hand corner. All told a good venue of its type.

Decent Irish bar in town, friendly enough and served an excellent pint of Guinness, one of the better pubs in Douglas in which there ar'nt many.

Irish pub at the end of Douglas' pedestrianised main shopping street. It's quite dark inside with one main room containing the bar and a much smaller and unoccupied side room at the front. Okell's Bitter is the real ale. Whilst I didn't have it here, it must be good enough to give the pub a spot in the Good Beer Guide.

Sky Sports News was being shown on a number of TV screens. Locals all appeared to be regulars, as they all knew one another. However, I didn't feel too out of place. As Irish pubs go, this wasn't too bad.
