Old Boots left this review about The Slug & Lettuce
A long thin place on two floor levels, the counter runs half of the way down the left hand side with seating at the front and at the back. Down the higher level right side it’s booth type seating. Four quad keg dispensers are spread along the counter serving nothing of note, the back shelf has an extraordinary array of bottles of spirits. No cask as I’m sure you have guessed. Not a lot to say, it’s a Slug & Lettuce.

This is like most Slug And Lettuce places being all substance and no soul. A long open plan place on levels so beware of a few steps every now and then. Its all trying to be glitzy but ending up being dull. Mainly for posing types and for people who's wives, girlfriends and potential girlfriends don't like pubs.

Typical Slug, no real beer only fizz and overpriced. Still gets full though for some reason. Called in for a pint of Vier as the other half likes the wine. The compromises you have to reach to keep everyone happy eh! Went down to the Spitting Feathers Brewery Tap for some top class beer in a top class pub afterwards .1 pint of fizz gets you 4 pints in a good place afterwards. Compromise reached.

Another moderny wine bar kind of place, upmarket and lacking character. Unlike Duttons, this place had no real ale, and of course, MILD would be out of the question, so after a brief study through the windows, i moved on by; like Oliver Twist, i sought a little more. I can only say i got the feeling it was a very pretentious place, be that as it may - the combination of no proper beer and modern decor meant that i returned to the Boot Inn instead.
