Will Larter left this review about The Castle Inn

I only "discovered" this pub a year or so ago, because whenever I passed there were always mounds of tourists scoffing food on the benches in front, which is a bit off-putting if you fancy a quiet beer. In the evening it's different, and is one of the most pleasant pubs I know. That's not to say it's also a world beater in the beer stakes. Three Theakston beers and Landlord are fine, but not exactly earth shattering, but my Old Peculier (NBSS 3.5) was £5.50, so I'll probably keep on calling in when in town.

ROB Camra left this review about The Castle Inn

Good looking pub both outside and inside. Several areas inside, although it's pretty much one room with partitions. Al is right, it does feel a bit cramped and it wasn't that busy during our visit. I had a pint of Landlord and Ms CAMRA had a half of Olde English. That will be Eight Pounds said the barperson!! We queried this as all our previous ronds had been around £6 - £6.50. £5.25 for the Landlord, £2.75 for a half of cider. Theft!! Even the Woolly Sheep only charges around £4.60 for Landlord. There's a pub in Skipton called The Fleece, but this is where the fleecing occurs.

A busy pub by the castle. Multi-roomed and it can seem a bit cramped when busy. The interior is sort of zig zag shaped. A pleasant enough place but a bit touristy. 4 handpumps on the bar with an unclipped one and 2 Theakstons beers plus a Nethercote beer on today.

Old Boots left this review about The Castle

Multi area pub with the most traditional of décor, red banquettes brown wood geometric carpets and etched windows. It's also got the biggest Britannia tables I've ever seen. There's lots of bric-a-brac, trophies and bottles plus a good collection of empty whisky tubes. 6 pulls although 2 were doubled up. Theaksons Best Bitter & Old Peculier plus Thwaites Wainwright and Caledonian Trojan Horse on the pulls, my Wainwright was pretty tired even after resting in the pipes all night. Big patio at the front and a separate dining room to one side.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Castle

Late 18th century pub adjacent to the church and medieval castle at the top of the high street. Single bar with three separate drinking areas. A very comfortable pub early doors, but when busy, difficult to get past people as they tend to stand at the bar and not budge. Tied Theakston house with two guest beers. Enjoyed the Theakston Lightfoot.

This is a largish looking pub at the top of the market place.
Once inside here the pub was well furnished and only had the one room which had different drinking areas.
There was only one real ale on here which was Tetley bitter this was ok but nothing special.
