Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lamp Tavern
Cottage-style locals pub with a L-shaped layout with a little lounge to the left of the entrance and the main seating area extending back on the other side of the compact bar counter. Given a basic semi-modern refurbishment at some stage, but the generally dark colours give a rather gloomy feel. Sports TVs, dartboard and the linked Punka Walla restaurant in a separate building on the right-hand side at the back. No cask ale of course, and even the Worthington's was off, so resorted to a Madri (£3.70) before moving on.

Roadside pub with an Indian attached (Panka Walla). No ales. A long row of tall keg taps with various fizzy drinks. You could hardly see the barmaid behind them! Had a Madri which was the same as it always is!

UPDATE: Sadly no longer a Holden's pub - basic taps (with Ansell's MILD, which is usually OK). Has a repaint - now in two-tone grey. The little restaurant building attached is now its own Indian restaurant.

Mar 2011: A small detached Holden's cream rendered cottage-styled pub, with a separate restaurant building (closed) and an enclosed side patio area. Named as such as the land over the road was a colliery last century.
The interior has a single L-shaped room. It is open plan, with a lounge area to the left on entry that has a sofa and a few comfy chairs in as well and a brick fireplace (gas fire) and includes Titanic memorabilia on the walls. The bar area has darts at one end and an area set up for karaoke (which can get loud, but i have only been in once when its on) at the other, where there is also a wall mounted TV. The decor has just been touched-up, so it is white and coffee. There is also a brick fireplace in this part of the pub, but it has a nice real fire, when needed. The whole pub seems to shake every now and then, i think they have some generator in the cellar or something - a bit of a weird feeling. It is a locals pub and seemed a little frosty whe we first started going in here, however, it now seems very friendly and one of, if not the best pub in Bloxwich.
Beer; tap stuff, with Holdens MILD and bitter on handpull - which is consistently fantastic and very cheap (£2) what more can you ask for!
This is a classic, down to earth place, that is a must everytime i visit Bloko. Class.

This is a newer Holden's pub that they took over in 1993. It appears to have had an extension added to the rear and right. Unlike many Holden's pubs it is a single room but segregated into smaller areas, which may be due to the fact that it is not one of their original pubs. My visit was enhanced by the appearance of a boxer dog who came over to say hello,
I could only see three beers on offer, Holden's Mild, Bitter and Golden Glow. I went for the Golden Glow which sadly was rather vinegary. I hope this was just a blip and that the new Spoons up the road isn't making them suffer.
This isn't one of the best Holden's pubs around but is worth a look.

Cant add much of real value to the previous reviewers comments. Called in around 1pm on a weekday to sample the fine Holden's mild which was spot on,and apart from that needed to seek refuge from the incessant snow. There were 5 cask beers on show (4 functioning)plus an open fire and drinks at economical prices.

The Lamp Tavern was my reason for coming to Bloxwich.
This pub is close to the town centre and is a stand alone pub, once insidde there was one room that was fairly basic but comfortable enough, this is an Holdens tied house and there were two of their beers on the bar i had a drink of Holdens bitter and this was a really nice drink and i also had a drink of Holdens mild and this was also very nice.
The pub was fairly busy and there was a nice atmosphere in here.
