One of the Greene King Hungry Horse chain that I've been avoiding for so long. I've done ok for beer in Marston's Generous George, so this must be ok too? Actually the beer is tolerable (Abbot - NBSS 2.5, £4.20/pint) but coming here at tea time means it's full of screaming brats; sorry, delightful young kids. This is where the pounding music from the nearby Pride of Shipley would have been handy, but this is proper background music, ie barely audible above the shrieks and cries. Avoid if you can.

The Noble Comb is a Fayre & Square dining pub.
Once inside there is a decent sized L shaped room with the bar facing, the room is carpeted, the seating mainly bench type plus normal tables and chairs, there are also a few tall tables and chairs.
There are menus on all tables so you know what to expect when the pub gets busy.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Leeds Pale which went down well, the other beers were GK IPA Gold and GK IPA.
Decent 80s background music was playing.
I was quite happy having a drink in here while it was raining outside, but this was before the diners had arrived and the kids party they were setting up had begun.
Pleasant enough when empty,no doubt a lot worse when it is in full swing.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Noble Comb
New-build, food-led Fayre & Square pub / restaurant of almost no character, but at least they sell a decent pint. Beer garden and children's play area. Three handpumps offering three Acorn beers: Barnsley Bitter, Barnsley Gold and Blonde (£3.23).

Terrible plastic palace with pre-cooked food warmed up in a microwave and hardly any real ales on usually. Attracts lots of people with screaming kids. Not one for anybody who appreciates a proper pub.
