North West Leicestershire District Council has approved plans to transform the Olde Flying Horse.
According to the plans, the ground floor of the property is to be divided up into two retail units and one self-contained flat.

The TV/music centre was playing much too loudly to no one in particular when I visited one otherwise quiet Monday afternoon recently. There were two ales from Blue Monkey brewery, and I'm told they recently had some from Hawkshead, so there seems to be an effort to get some unusual brews on the bar. Interesting feature: the fireplaces at opposite ends of the long room are of widely differing quality of design and construction, showing that one was originally in the "posh" saloon bar, the other in the "lower class" public bar, the dividing wall having long since vanished.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ye Olde Flying Horse
Large-looking pub in an imposing position in the centre of the village, faced in a mock-Tudor style with white painted walls between decorative timberwork. Retains a large red Bass sign high above the pub name. Inside, it appears much smaller than you would expect, and the place has a somewhat run-down air. Two real ales on, including a decent pint of the afore-mentioned Bass.
