Strongers . left this review about The Victoria
The Victoria is located across the road from the level crossing at Portslade Railway Station and is a U-shaped pub. Around to the right of the pub there is a pool table and dartboard and there is a projector screen and some plasma screens are located throughout. Sky Sports is shown, but during my visit early on a recent Saturday evening the TVs were off and a DJ was set up by the entrance. He was playing some loud funky house and I spotted on some advertisements that Karaoke starts at 20:00 every Saturday and Thursday. I’d imagine that there is a late license at the weekends and on Sunday evenings there is live music. There is a paved beer garden out the back that has some covered seating along with another plasma screen. I don’t remember seeing any hand pumps, but I may have missed them as I was steaming after watching the FA Cup final in a pub down the road. I did notice that food is served from midday until 16:00.
There was a bit of a party atmosphere in here and the friendly ladies working behind the bar were certainly getting into the spirit of things. I’m not a big fan of karaoke so I left before it started as I didn’t want my memory of this pub to be tainted by some out of tune warbling. I would have no problem returning here in the future.
