An over-modernised old pub, with a motley jumble of modern furnishings and a half-hearted attempt at a nightclub feel, including a DJ desk. Out the front is a little pleasanter, with some tables under a tree. Londons Glory and IPA were badged on the pumps but both appeared to be off. Rather a waste of a licensed premise.

A large pub which a found to be a rather soulless ordinary high street style pub.
Two handpumps serving a rather bland duo of Doombar and London Pride.Lots of TV screens showing Sky news on my afternoon visit, flashing fruit machines and a pool table. This place did little for me.

An old building with a low beamed ceiling, now opened out into one space with a central bar. It isn't too difficult to picture the original layout, and separate entrances remain. There is a pool table in a side area and a dartboard in what I'd regard as the main body of the pub. To the rear is a more modern open vaulted ceilinged extension. Several TVs dotted about the place were showing football with volume on Sunday afternoon, I felt this to be overly intrusive despite liking football as I had no real interest in the game and there was nowhere inside to avoid it.
Mostly traditional seating at standard tables but there was the odd sofa here and there. Four handpumps on the bar, one unused, the choice was Pride, Landlord and Hop Back Summer Lightning which was in good shape but expensive at £3.65 but I suppose it is 5%.
There wasn't much of note in the way of decor and although the beer condition and choice were acceptable this pub lacks something and the manner in which it has been altered detracts from the history that clearly lurks beneath the surface.

Mainly good atmosphere during day. Can be dodgy late on Friday night, but good bouncers.
