Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Bearslake Inn
This is a roadside pub on the A386 between Okehampton and Tavistock, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. It is a lovely old buidling and I received a warm welcome.
The building consists of a bar, restaurant and accommodation. Dogs are allowed in the bar and a German lady appeared with a dog that was the size of a small horse. The bar has a flagstone wall and exposed stone walls. There are farming implements hanging from the walls. There are also a few outdoor tables to the front.
The house beer is Otter Amber (badged as On The Moor) and Dartmoor Legend is a regular. The guest was Firebrand Shipwreck Coast, with a fourth handpull unclipped. On keg, there was Otter Black, with keg ciders being Otter Wildsider & Sandford Orchards Devon Mist.
The young barmen seemed to make all visitors welcome, which was particularly nice. This was a far better pub than I had been expecting.
